Terms of use
Last updated: 14 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Vacamp: the iPhone and iPad app, the web map at vacamp.ai/map, the connector for AI assistants such as Claude, and this website. Vacamp is run by Marius Liebmann, Hamburg, Germany (full details in the legal notice). How we handle your data is in the privacy policy. In the app, Apple's standard licence agreement for App Store apps applies as well.
What Vacamp is
Vacamp shows campsites on a map and, where it can, asks a campsite's own booking system whether it has space for your dates. Vacamp does not sell, broker or book stays, and takes no commission. When you book, you book with the campsite, on its own page and under its own terms; Vacamp is not part of that contract.
Vacamp is free. Using the map needs no account. An account, also free, is needed for stay watches, for reviews, photos and problem reports, for managing a campsite, and for the connector for AI assistants.
Availability, prices and campsite details
Availability and prices are what a campsite's booking system told us when we asked. They can change a minute later, and the booking system can be wrong or answer incompletely. They are not an offer, and we cannot promise that a pitch is free or that a price holds. The campsite's own booking page is always what counts.
Campsite details come from OpenStreetMap, from the campsite's own website, from campsite owners and from other campers. Some facts are read from a campsite's website by an AI model; the app says where that is the case, and those facts can be wrong. Please check anything that matters to you, such as whether dogs are allowed or a road is suitable for your vehicle, with the campsite before you rely on it. If something is wrong, tell us with "Something wrong here?" on the campsite's page.
A stay watch checks again in the background and tells you when space opens up. It can miss a change or tell you late, for example when a booking system is down, so it is a help, not a guarantee.
Tokens
Each live answer from a booking system costs one token; a check that fails costs nothing. Tokens refill on their own up to the limits on the pricing page. They are not money: they cannot be bought, sold, transferred or paid out, and we may change how many there are and how fast they refill.
Your account
You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account, including by an AI assistant you connect to it. You can sign devices and assistants out, and delete your account, at any time on your account page.
Reviews, photos and problem reports
What you post must be honest and about the campsite. In particular, do not post:
- photos you did not take yourself, unless you have the right to publish them;
- photos in which people can be recognised who did not agree to it;
- reviews of a campsite you run, work for or compete with, or reviews you were paid or rewarded for;
- anything unlawful, insulting, false about someone, or advertising.
You keep the rights to what you post. By posting it, you allow us to store it, show it, resize it and make it available in Vacamp (the app, the web map, the connector and this website), free of charge and worldwide, for as long as it is online. When you delete something, or your account, it is taken down at once; copies in backups disappear as the backups are replaced.
If you post something that infringes someone else's rights and that is your fault, you are responsible to them and to us for the harm it causes, including reasonable legal costs.
Reporting content
If you think a review, photo, campsite detail or anything else on Vacamp is unlawful or infringes your rights, for example a photo of yours, write to support@vacamp.ai with a link to it and why. This is also our contact point under the EU Digital Services Act; you can write to us in English or German. We look at every report, take down what breaks the law or these terms, and tell the person who reported it what we did. If we hide something you posted, it stays visible to you marked as hidden; write to us if you want to know why or think we got it wrong, and we will look at it again.
Campsite owners
Only claim a campsite you are allowed to act for. Details you edit appear on Vacamp at once; they must be correct, and you are responsible for them. If a claim turns out to be wrong, or an owner's edits break these terms, we withdraw the claim and undo the edits. Switching live checks off for your campsite works at any time, with or without an account.
Fair use
Please do not:
- copy Vacamp's data in bulk, or query it automatically other than through the app, the web map or the connector for AI assistants used in a normal way;
- get around token limits, for example by creating installs or accounts in bulk;
- attack, overload or probe Vacamp or the booking systems it asks;
- use Vacamp in a way that breaks the law or other people's rights.
If you do, we may limit or block your install or account. Where that is not urgent, we warn you first.
Liability
We are fully liable for harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where the law (such as the German Product Liability Act) does not allow liability to be limited. For slight negligence we are liable only when we breach an obligation that is essential to using Vacamp and that you may rely on, and then only for the harm that is typical and foreseeable for that kind of service. Otherwise we are not liable. In particular, availability, prices and campsite details from booking systems, campsites, owners, other campers or an AI model are information, not a promise, as set out above.
Changes to Vacamp and these terms
Vacamp is new and will change: features may be added, changed or removed, and a booking system may stop answering. We may also end the service; if we do, we will say so here and email account holders at least four weeks before.
If we change these terms, the new version appears on this page with its date. We will email account holders about changes that affect them before they apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Vacamp and delete your account at any time.
Law
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another country, this does not take away the protection that the mandatory law of that country gives you.
